| Abstract: | The per capita net income of farmers in China rose from 134 yuan to 2090 yuan. The growth rate of farmers' cash income in the first half of the year 1998 was zero, so it is very difficult to reach the target of 4 percent growth rate this year. The countermeasures to increase farmers' income are: firmly and steadily carry out the household contractual system, increase agricultural productivity ratio, try to solve the problem of rural surplus labor, amplify the degree of investment in agriculture and rural areas and try reduce farmers' burdens. |
