| Abstract: | The effect of trade policy regimes on national economic gains from international production in foreign direct investment receiving countries is an issue of obvious policy relevance and analytical interest, but one on which there has been a dearth of empirical research. This article aims at filling this gap by examining the determinants of productivity of international production, using a cross section of data on overseas operations of United States manufacturing affiliates in 44 countries. |
