| Abstract: | An initial public offering (IPO), the first selling of a company's stock to the public, aren't just for investors anymore. It provides an opportunity to disseminate information on the company through a prospectus distributed to potential investors. The increased transparency, broader and deeper publicity and wider stock ownership that result for the company suggest that an IPO is more than simply a way to raise capital. |
