Abstract:Knowledge migrates rapidly, and power goes with knowledge. The most valued company is one with intellectual property, fueled by new computing and communications technologies. This is the environment in which cost management strives to contribute, and cost management is nevertheless, more important than ever. The author provides the list of characteristics of notable importance for the future, and each of these characteristics discussed in detail. The author provides the list of reasons for what changing an entire profession is orders of magnitude more difficult than individual change. The new profession framework must deal with measurement and management in a holistic sense.
