Abstract: | Among contemporary research issues, global and regional convergence stands out as one of the most contentious and ill-defined topics. The introduction of euro as currency in January 2002 has placed convergence to the forefront of practical thinking for the European retailers. There is information in brief on comparative correlations of Top 20 retailers in France, Germany and the United Kingdom (U.K.) (Dec. 1997 - Dec. 2000), and differences in their variation of financial performance (1999-2001). There is also Appendix A: Country lists of the leading European retailers (in France, Germany and the UK.) |
