| Abstract: | Three organisational case studies are reviewed in this paper, two from the higher education sector and one from local government. The used method is comparative and relies on secondary data from these organisations. Initially, the meaning ascribed to diversity management is looked at and the history of work-life balance and current literature which informs "best practice" as identified by the DTI, CIPD and Employers for Work Life Balance is reviewed briefly. Each case sample is then examined and the inherent similarities and contradictions within each are sought to be revealed and problematised. |
