Abstract:Diversity (i.e. cross-functionality, hereafter as: div.) is not a royal road to enhancing team innovativeness. Div. is connected with unplanned negative secondary effects militating against the innovative potential of div. A model is proposed showing how team div. is conveyed into innovation-related advantages and disadvantages. On the basis of empirical studies, examples are given for strategies of diversity management.(original in German)
