Abstract:The paper examines what kind of effects have different introductions to survey participation rates. Four elements were tested: an incentive, an assurance that the survey was not a sales pitch, an assurance of confidentiality and a short versus longer descripition of the survey topic. As a result only the incentive seemed to increase significantly the participation rate.
