Abstract:This article analyses the implementation of strategic marketing plans and the implementation capabilities of managers. The impact of manager gender on behaviour-based implementation is explored. The findings suggest that superior implementation capabilities are shown by female field sales managers in the implementation of behaviour-based control strategies, and that it may also concern the implementation capabilities in strategic marketing and more generally.
