| Abstract: | This article discusses the relationship between dividends and ownership structure. The author finds that when controlling for unobserved firms specific effects, there is a negative relationship between the two. Ownership composition also matters, with a positive relationship observed for shareholding by insurance companies, and a negative one for individuals. |
