| Abstract: | Inequitable gender norms and stereotypes are embedded in social and individual consciousness, and in addition, are resistant to change. The paper uses the data provided by The World Values Survey to analyze determinants of trends in norms stereotypes over time and across countries. The purpose is to find evidence that increases in womens paid employment promotes gender equitable norms and stereotypes. |
