Abstract: | Based on a dataset of 139 R&D laboratories located in 21 countries, this paper empirically tests whether a fit among R&D laboratory mission and national culture impacts R&D performance. Specifically, it is assumed that some cultures possess a natural advantage as to capability (here as: cap-y.) augmenting tasks, while other cultures are better suited to host cap-y. exploiting tasks. There can be found no relationship btw. mission-culture alignment and performance in case of capability augmenting laboratories. |
