Abstract:This paper aims at proposing a methodology for applying knowledge (hereafter as: knwl.) management (KM), focusing on explaining problematic areas of an organization through identifying the knwl. core process, and applying KM strategies to those processes. The most important criteria are used to evaluate the associated processes with their respective tasks to establish the problematic areas/opportunities where KM initiatives can be applied. This strategy inhibits dealing with all the organization's problems, allowing management to focus on only those processes offering significant knwl. In conclusion, this study explores and recommends an unexploited, yet valuable element to be taken into consideration when implementing KM initiatives.
