Abstract:After its spectacular popularity the floating rate note almost disappeared. Now it is re-emerging, but in a different cloak. The cause of the temporary failure was the introduction of perpetual FRN which is called by some expert a silly instrument that almost killed the valuable dated floater market. The floating rate note is not dead, and the bankers try to make it alive and well again.
