Abstract:At the UK-based international retailing and trading conglomerate, BOOKER, all foreign investments have been made for the long term. This has led the firm to be cautious with its foreign trade exposure. Helped by its financial advisers S. G. WARBURG, the company bought a special product called revolving swap. It combines short-term flexibility with a long-term duration. It is structured as a usual currency swap with LIBOR-based interest, but the firm can choose at short notice the date of opening or closing or reopening the commitment.
