Abstract:Large managerial hierarchies have become significant actors of the market and their activity largely influences economic outcomes. They act collectively and interdependently. Thus traditional managerial logics and recipes cannot be simply imputed to them. Economic power relations also structure firm behavior. These changes evoked by mergers, technological changes and overlapping competitive systems must also be taken into consideration. This process shows the critical role played by giant firms in economic outcomes and the need of complex analysis of their creation, strategic choices and actions.
