Abstract:A survey carried out by the Irish Management Institute in Dublin, indicated that around 80 p.c. of all managers consider time as a problem for them. Popular remedies fail because they are not able to develop a skill. Managers' working day is very fragmented. Time manegement needs the same type of medium and long term planning ascribed to other managerial activities. Ambiguity of role, conception of managerial tasks and perceived work pressures all contribute to the overall complexity of the time management problem. The true nature of the problem must be identified and stress points cleared. Support systems in the treatment of personal problems can be applied with good results.
