Abstract:A review of the U.K. food and drink markets, impact of no smoking areas, low alcohol wines and beers, the demand for bottled water, diet versions of soft drinks, shift to light drinks, trend for healthy food: yogurt and high-fibre cereals, reductions in use of sugar and fats; proliferation of liqueur type products, high caffeine cola products, rise in snack foods and increased eating out, plus the merger fever in food business distribution.
