| Abstract: | Project selection is focused on. The broad areas of concern for preliminary screening are examined in relation to overall national and regional policy objectives. Two related criteria are useful in the economic evaluation, namely maximization of net benefits and minimization of costs. The economic justification is the key step in the processing cycle. A comprehensive analytical model for benefit measurement is presented and the practical problems of evaluation are described. A detailed economic evaluation of a project in Malaysia is also included. |
