Abstract: | Getting the best performance from any company's resources, especially people, can present a problem. Making sure that each employee is productive so that the company is productive is a key task of all managers and practising specialists. An alternative approach to improving performance, different from those adopted in the past, is proposed, based on a detailed analysis of performance. A review of the many approaches and studies of behaviour at work suggests that the primary elements of performance and basic orientations to work are coupled in the following ways: 1. economic elements involve an instrumental orientation; 2. social ones involve a relational orientation; 3. psychological elements involve a personal orientation. |
