Abstract:A working life without "flex" time is hardly conceivable nowadays. The motivational aspects of flexible working time are considered. Some sociological and psychological issues are examined. Several working time models are briefly reviewed: rigid, inflexible working time; fixed working time with some elective properties; floating time; variable working time; part-time and/or temporary employment; working time models on yearly basis; job sharing; modular - Baukasten- - system; flexible solutions encompassing the whole working life etc.. The most important models are assessed taking into account the benefits and losses of employees and the interests of employers as well.
