Abstract:Cultural differences often seem to lie at the root of merger failures. Other obstacles to merger success are explored and a dynamic model of merger stability is developed. The integration of an international merger is a process of many years. Separately identifiable interests will gradually decrease and the initial configuration undergoes changes and becomes more resistant to internal frictions.
