Abstract:A growing number of business experts advocate that workers should take on some management tasks. Many companies are already experimenting with self-managing work teams. One of the most important elements in team direction is training all employees on all functions of the business. The second most critical need for training is in interpersonal skills. A case study shows how one company was able to achieve record productivity gains through total employee involvement.
