Abstract: | Industrial R and D (research and development) managers need to be, first and foremost, practical, in order to get technology actually developed and used by their company. R and D managers are offered 101 practical suggestions on how they can get technology developed and used by their company more effectively. These suggestions pertain to many areas of managing R and D: from selecting R and D to improving the communication between R and D people and the rest of the company; from fostering high morale among R and D people and encouraging creativity to establishing discipline in how R and D projects are started, carried out, and ended. The common thread is practicality. |
