Abstract:Air pollution and its damaging health and ecological effects are analyzed from a global and a European point of view. Nations that receive the bulk of their pollution from other countries have an obvious interest in sharing and financing the technical means to reduce that pollution. Just as essential is information sharing. International negotiations within the framework of both the Economic Commission for Europe and the European Community as well as the ongoing negotiations on global warming offer invaluable opportunities to trade insights and experience.
