Abstract: | The objective of this paper is to generate theory about the nature of portfolio working and ways in which portfolio workers experience their way of working. Features characterized portfolio working: the self-management of work, the independent generation of work and income, a variety of work and clients, and a working environment situated outside of one single organization are associated with key processes within its experience: autonomy, uncertainty and social isolation. |
