Abstract: | British Telecom /BT/ has been much in the press this year, due to attention centered on two major strands of change. One comes from outside the company, the duopoly review which will scope the future of telecommunication in the UK in the 1990s. The other is a far-reaching reorientation and restructuring of the company, to put consumers first. This initiative is known as Project Sovereign. It is about to change to a new culture which instinctively puts customers first and embraces a wide ranging package of improvements to the supply of customer services. Mike Bett, vice chairman of BT, is confident of the benefits of his organization's cultural changes. |
