Abstract: | It is vital for companies to generate new knowledge faster than their rivals because of globalisation and other changes in markets. The paper develops a model that focuses on how managerial controllable variables influence the level of knowledge generation in new product development. The findings of a data collected from 277 firms suggests that information technologies, organisational crisis, individual commitment, the R&D budget, and job rotation increase levels of knowledge creation. Lead user and supplier networks are however negatively associated with the level of knowledge creation. |
