| Abstract: | TRW is a corporation with interests in space and defence, automotives and information systems. Its global-minded chairman has pulled the group through a restructuring and now is using its research experience to launch new product lines in new fields. Earlier the company was the model of diversification. But that made it difficult to put resources into any one thing. The company has been operating between focusing for the long term and still producing some current profit. It has high reputation as the United States Government's prime contractor on satellites, and is a world leader in air-craft electronics. TRW hopes to capture 50% of a world market in air bag safety systems. |
