Abstract:The wave of corporate restructuring in the 1980's transformed many company headcounts and ownership records. An underlying objective for many was the enhancement of shareholder value, the company's worth to its owners. Out of the diverse actions emerged similar lines of organizational change, change in the ways that companies make decisions, reward achievement, and otherwise organize their managerial systems. The purpose of this article is to identify leading elements of organizational change emerging out of this general restructuring period.
