Abstract: | Technical changes in products and the means of production, together with internal company restructuring, often lead to completely new demands being made on the existing employees. Through examples from the Daimler-Benz company, the paper presents a number of concrete concepts and measures concerning further employee training in the face of new structural requirements. The following aspects are emphasized: the fact that training is a must is obvious; the issue is rather HOW; further training must be closely tailored in terms of content of the requirements of the relevant sector and its staff; success is achieved by optimizing the teaching methods, the structure of education, and the cost benefit ratio. |
