Abstract: | Opportunities for restructuring a firm's financing abound in the economic marketplace. The approaches, asset-based lending, refinancing, credit enhancement bank negotiation, joint ventures, securities issues, and equity kickers, offer a usable range of activities to tailor the corporation's requirements. Tacticians, financial advisers trying to solve acute and immediate problems, usually of dangerous under-capitalization often use some of these methods as desperate efforts to decide a company's survival; therefore some of these have acquired the reputation of being very risky. But they are not. Of course, the financial adviser using them must have clear long-term goals, detailed understanding, and the ability to choose the appropriate method. |
