Abstract: | A major international tourism conference on Africa, sponsored in part by the World Bank, is to be held in Kampala next October. The aim of the summit is to stop Africa losing out in one of the most competitive sectors in the world. The paper states that the five day conference, entitled 'Africa - the 21st Century Destination' aims to inject fresh ideas and resources using the latest marketing techniques into promoting tourism to Africa. The particular target is to encourage 'a new generation' of tourists to Africa. The Ugandan give a boost to its fledgling tourism industry and in particular enhance its efforts to promote eco-tourism within Uganda. |
