Abstract: | This paper aims to explore the perspectives and thoughts of Generation X aerospace engineers related to strategies, processes, and methods to enhance the knowledge transfer (KT) from Baby Boomers to Generation X aerospace engineers. The qualitative Delphi research method was applied as a formalized process designed to extract opinions from an expert panel. Data gathered from the Generation X participants helped to answer the research questions. According to the 24 Generation X study panelists, visible and participative management involvement is required by optimal KT. Management support is the core of a knowledge sharing culture promoting open and honest communication, trusting and respectful relationships, effective mentoring relationships etc. Synthesis of the data results assisted in the creation of a KT model. |
