Abstract: | A discussion on the role of face-to-face conversations for social knowledge processes and sense-making in organizations is presented. It is questioned how conversations (herein as: cnvrs.) can be managed for fostering developments in organizational knowing. It is especially focused on the role of explicit rules as one means to manage cnvrs. from a knowledge perspective and analyse contributions from knowledge management (KM), organizational learning, decision making etc. A management framework is proposed by drawing on communication theory to refine and systemize the discussion on the multitude of conversation rules. |
