Abstract: | This paper reviews some issues related with knowledge sharing (as: KS), identifying what is considered to be potentially interesting and fruitful avenues of future research. The inadequacy of the common distinction btw. tacit and explicit knowledge is examined. Storytelling, in particular, is identified as one tacit knowledge generation mechanism. The differing ways in which communities of practice (or CoPS) may support KS and generation are discussed. A link btw. the health of the CoPS in an organisation, the nature of its organisational memory, and the ability of the organisation to operate flexibly is hypothesized. |
