Abstract:The focus of this study is on the impact of knowledge (hereafter as: knwl.) management (KM) in supplier relations, named as supplier-focused KM (or SFKM) within the automobile industry of an emerging economy (Brazil) on financial (here as: fin.) and product performance (as: perf). Presented is a model of the relationship btw. supplier-focused KM, including its associated processes and performance. It is found among others that knwl. sharing through face-to-face communication is positively related to both product and fin. perf., whereas technological knwl. sharing has a positive impact on product perf. under conditions of high technological dynamism. The results support the major hypotheses of the SFKM model.
