Abstract:This study explores the influence of situational (herein as: stn-al.) factors, that is, the bribe size, time pressure, and the degree of abstractness of the business code, related to the Model of Corrupt Action describing the corrupt actors' subjective decision making process. Using an experimental simulation design via a sample of over 190 German university business and non-business students, there are found only few effects. Thus, the results show a certain robustness of corrupt behaviour against the examined sn-al. influences. Implications for the prevention of corruption in organizations are discussed.
