| Abstract: | The integration of technology, people, and organization within an up-to-date concept of computer integrated manufacturing is characterized. It is shown how CIM has become a part of higher education in Switzerland. The basic steps in a CIM-oriented course are identified. A minimum thirty-week study is followed by practical training. The most important topics of the lectures are listed. The training facilities are described. The experience gained from a pilot program is definitely positive. |
