Abstract:Organizational decision making needs to consider three issues: strategic planning, operational planning and administrative planning system. Strategic leaders are characterized by their skills in selecting future markets to enter and achieving growth for the organization. Most senior managers are operational leaders. Strategic leaders need to think systematically about the future environment. The steps to be taken in the decision making process are: stating the purpose of the plan, defining a set of strategic questions that need to be addressed, identifying strategic issues, linking strategies to the financial plan, and acquiring skills to develop expertise in strategic thinking.
