Abstract: | In the process of its expansion in East Europe Henkel, the large German detergent and cosmetic producer, is confronted with a different world. Henkel's enterprise in Poland is described in the article. They have very ambitious goals with the Polish plant in Raciborz: the plant must produce detergents of Henkel quality in three years. However, the Germans face considerable hindrances in Poland: corruption, prejudice, secret grudge, indolent work. A further problem is the sale and marketing of the products produced in Poland. Henkel's problems are caracteristic to the Eastern business and its efforts to solve them are examined. |
