| Abstract: | Relying on a computable general equilibrium model the authors analyse an economy where preference maximising households spend part of their income on rent-seeking activities in order to influence the authorities in their choice of export promoting instruments. The model is quantified with Turkish data. It is demonstrated that the choice of the authorities depends on both the foreign trade organisation of the country and the rent-seeking by privates. |
