Abstract: | In 1990 Poland began implementation of its edconomic reform program. The ultimate goal is to introduce a viable market economy. The Polish program is representative of a style of thinking currently dominant in Eastern Europe. This article describes the main features of the Polish program and questions the underlying philosophy. The program of Polish reform known as the Balcerowicz Plan has been in implementation since the first of January, 1990. |
