Abstract: | Socio-technical, institutional, socio-linguistic and grammatical competence are all necessary elements of cross-cultural business competence. Without mastery of any one of them the business person is likely to express expectations that are either socio-economically irrelevant or stylistically offensive. There is a wide diversity of methods for addressing the challenge of foreign language competence in international business education - from a passive requirement that competence be proven to a pro-active integration of language-culture dimensions into university curriculum and foreign companies. |
