Abstract:Together with satellites, cellular, FM paging, meteor burst, Motorola SMR (Specialized Mobile Radio) and Uniden-Magellan all employ land-based radio equipment. There are several new system concepts for the 90s. The first new concept is mobile satellite service (MSS), the second one is radio determination satellite service RDSS. Cost of user equipment and average length of trip will influence market segmentation in the mobile communication industry.
