Abstract:Last December the Secretary of State for Scotland announced the creation of an 8 million pound Gaelic Television Broadcasting Fund to be financed by the government. Unlike Wales, Scotland will not have its own Gaelic Channel, so transmission will continue to be split between the existing channel. The Gaelic Broadcasting Committee will decide how much money will be spent in each program area.
