| Abstract: | Aussat was established in 1981 as a public enterprise to build , own, and operate the Australian satellite system. Though the first generation of satellites has been a great technical success, Aussat has failed to achieve its financial aims. The second generation is to replace the first one in the early 1990s. The Australian government has decided to privatize Aussat on terms and conditions which may well prolong its problems with the satellite system. |
