| Abstract: | NECTAR group has developed long-term scenarios of transport and communications in Europe and examined all the human activities which have an effect on these fields. It is hypothesized that societal innovations today are more likely to come from grassroots movements than from technical elites. Most of them agreed that the present growth-oriented development may cause serious conflicts with other objectives such as equity and environmental balance. |
