| Abstract: | The proposed export licensing reform may soon remove key U.S.-made satellite hardware from the State Department's controversial Munition Control List. The encryption sector may be the first in satellite communications to benefit from this reform. At issue whether U.S. software, fiber optics and digital transmission interests should be permitted to export key technologies to destinations such as the Commonwealth of Independent States. |
