| Abstract: | The article deals with the work of N.A.Morozov who through a comparison of descriptions of historical events and natural phenomena /e.g. solar eclipses/ arrived at a conclusion about a massive falsification of historical documents. His findings are reviewed by means of a method of statistical analysis developed by A.T.Fomenko. An editorial note on the article draws the attention to the need for a completion of mathematical analysis of historical texts with their semiotic analysis. |
